Heat up the Winter with this Blazer

by Patricia-Ann Que | 2017-11-13

The featured item for today's blog is the blazer. And why the blazer? First, they are back. Fashion pioneers and bloggers are wearing them and I even saw in some collections in the recent NYFW. Think big shoulders, squared shape, just like back in the 80s! However, the blazer I'm featuring has a modern twist; a shoulder cut. The cold shoulder gave this boxy blazer a more up-to-date look rather than something out of your parent's closet.

So let's get right on with it and here are the three looks for the this modern blazer!

LOOK ONE : The Fun Look

I love the length of this blazer as it is long enough to be a dress! I paired it with my blue velvet Over The Knee boots to create a balance. I find a short dress with tall boots or OTK chic and sexy. It is showing off just the right amount of skin, not too much, not too little. I would say that this look is definitely for a girl's night out or clubbing!

LOOK TWO : The Sophisticated Look

Using the same accessories and bag, I have transformed the blazer into an elegant evening look by simply pairing it with this shimmer maxi skirt. The blush color of the blazer and the light pink hue of the skirt gives an overall elegance. Notice that I overlapped the collars to show less skin making it sophisticated. This is best for evening gala events or for fine dining moments.

LOOK THREE :  The Casual Look

This time I toned down the look with fun accessories rather than statement ones. This created a casual easy look. Pairing the blazer with these white flowy culottes made it almost feminine yet edgy. I think the tassel earrings and the matching frilled bag added playfulness to the overall look.

I must say that I had fun creating these three looks and I hope that you have equally enjoyed it! As always, would love to hear which one is your favorite look or the one that you would like to wear.
