My last three articles talked about keeping warm while staying stylish in the gloomy winter season. It came under the Frozen Fashionista series: Street Style, Glam Style, and Fun Style. As I read the comments here and on my Instagram account @becrayonized, many of you found the series name playful and fun. This inspired me for my next article which I'm calling Snow White and the Three Looks. Ottawa is gathering so much snow this year that I got reminded of my white maxi dress from H&M that I actually bought in Bangkok, Thailand before moving to Ottawa. Just like in my previous articles, my first tip is to layer, and as always, my first layer is the reliable heat tech thermals from Uniqlo. Now let us start styling!
Look One: Red and White
It is funny when I posted this photo @becrayonized, many of my followers related the colors with Canada! What a good observation but that was not the intention. I just think that colors is a good match :). I got the idea from my mittens courtesy of Hudson Bay. I think it is the warmest mittens I've ever had! To add a feminine touch, I created a waistline by cinching my waist with this soft obi belt from Mango. The look will not be complete without this tasseled statement earrings from Zara and this handmade leather bag I got from Karen Gunna Designs.
Look Two: Black and White
This is a classic and almost a guarantee not to go wrong… yes almost! Too much of it can make one look like a dalmatian or a checkered floor! The trick to keeping it classy is to use it minimally at the right place. The winter accessory I added here is my oblong scarf from ALDO. Since this is white on white, I added this extra long tasseled earrings from ReasonToBePretty to break the monotone and slimmed the waist with my wide Zara belt.
Look Three: Blue and White
This last look came in as a challenge to myself, can I pull of this dress without using a belt? To do this, I need to break the look using a different accessory and I did this with my chunky royal blue scarf from ALDO. It looked simple so to amp it up, I added this statement necklace that I got in a flea market in Bangkok (now I'm starting to miss home!). I completed the look with this clutch bag from Zara. I chose this as the floral embroidery matches the necklace.
I want to know what do you wear your whites with! What color matches do you like most? Would love to hear your views! Next article is all about the pajama styles, pajama this days is not only limited for sleeping!
